PSHE
Our PSHE curriculum is delivered whole school through our programme of study in tutor sessions, assembly time and through our Drama curriculum.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our ‘SMSC’ (Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural) delivery. Every subject in the school links to this in many ways throughout a student’s career here at Banovallum which adds another opportunity to enhance progress in PSHE.
Within KS3 Drama we work towards enhancing pupil’s personal, social, and health education and introducing them to the key concepts of Citizenship.
Pupils work practically during lessons in small groups often producing short performances each lesson to be analysed.
Assessment tasks place at the end of every half term when pupils perform a five minute piece of theatre on the half term’s topic. Student’s engagement with the content of PSHE/Citizenship Learning is assessed alongside the Drama skills and techniques
