Opening of the New Library

Banovallum School was delighted to open its doors on Wednesday 21st September for the annual open evening. The evening began with the opening of the newly refurbished library by Mr David Ireland.  He spoke to the students about the importance of reading and emphasised how lucky they are to have a space to come to before and after school every day. During the summer, the library has had a complete face list and over £8000 worth of new stock.

Open Evening itself is primarily for prospective parents selecting a school for their year 6 children but a number of ex-students returned to see the many changes to the school site and introduce their younger siblings to the staff. David Taylor, who has just completed A Levels and whose younger brother has started in Year 7 said: “It’s amazing to see how the spaces in school are much lighter, brighter and professional!”
