Headteacher appointment announced

The Governors and Ms Shore are delighted to announce that Mr Grant Edgar has been appointed as Headteacher at Banovallum School from September 2017. Mr Edgar has already visited the school on a number of occasions and is working with Ms Shore to secure a smooth handover. He has shared this short biography below.
I am currently employed at Skegness Grammar School where I was initially appointed as Assistant Headteacher for Teacher & Learning ten years ago. I subsequently became Director of Specialisms then Deputy Headteacher. During this time at SGS he has also served as an Acting Principal in another DRET Academy.
I am 49 years old, married to Rachel and have 3 children: Millie (8); William (6) & Ben 2½.
I started teaching in the Lo London Borough of Hillingdon, where I was Head of History & Politics in my second school. Other career experience includes working in finance recruitment in London for 5 years and completing a ski season in Courchevel 1850, working in a in a high end chalet
My Interests are most sports, sadly mostly watching these days but I still regularly play tennis, run, ski and walk my dog Porridge; reading - mostly non-fiction and thrillers; history & politics, particularly US politics and supporting St Mirren FC through thin and sadly thinner.
