Project X

RAF Waddington were calling out for ingenious designs to be flown down a zip wire to deliver “delicate equipment” along the way! Our 9 dedicated Banovallum students Ollie Robinson, Micah Reed, Dan Bower, Callum Chapman, Luke Haynes, Jacob Moxon, Harry Inman, Charlie Greenhill and Izabella Rylance rose to the challenge. Izabella over saw the design aspect which took its inspiration from U.F.Os in old sci fi movies. Harry, Charlie, Dan and Callum helped mould this idea into reality. While Ollie, Micah, Jacob and Luke helped devise 2 egg pods that were safe to deliver the delicate equipment in one piece. Not only did they have to build the U.F.O from scratch they also had to present their U.F.O to gain flight permission on the day of the competition Wednesday 23rd November. Their remote mechanism was unreliable on the competition day which led to our egg pods not being deployed correctly. However, these students did Banovallum proud and had an enjoyable day looking into the RAF as a career option.
