Banovallum School

Upcoming Y9 Natural Forms Exhibition

Children attending Banovallum School have recently completed their project Natural forms as part of their Y9 work in Art and Design. They have now been provided with the exciting opportunity to collaborate alongside the Joseph Banks Natural Science and Heritage Centre to exhibit a diverse range of their work.
Throughout the term they have researched a range of artists and experimented with new materials to create a series of outcomes whilst studying their topic.
Each student has submitted a select amount of work which has been presented to the exhibition committee formed by volunteer students. Their work will showcase a range of skills and techniques they have explored, inspired by findings from a recent visit to the Sir Joseph Banks Centre. This includes a range of printing, clay modelling, embroidery, observational drawings, mixed media and research.

A private opening will commence on the evening of Thursday 9th February for students and parents/carers. The exhibition for public viewing runs over half term week from Saturday 11th February to Saturday 18th February.

Also, during half term week on Wed 15th and Thurs 16th staff will be available to talk to any students who are thinking of a career in Natural Science, Heritage and Culture. The centre is open 10.00am – 4.00pm.

Please pop in to the Joseph Banks centre during half term to view their brilliant work.

Many thanks, Miss Colley - Teacher of Art and Design
