Head's Messages

A warm welcome to Banovallum School. It is my tremendous privilege to have been headteacher here since January 2011. The school itself has been serving the local community for fifty years and is housed in a well-equipped, professional learning environment.  We are very well supported by parents and community partners and are fully committed to offering an inclusive and open entry policy to local young people.

The school is led on the principles of hard work and a personalised approach. We know our students as individuals and celebrate them as such.

I am extremely grateful to the staff for their dedication and determination. We recognise and never lose sight of the responsibility that comes with being in charge of young people’s life chances.

We strive to ensure that the conditions in school are created to allow the students to become the best they can be, not only in academic terms but in Sport, Creative and Performing Arts and citizenship as well. Banovallum places a great deal of emphasis on student leadership and our students are rightly proud of their school.

We believe that young people learn best when they are happy and our most important principle is that they enjoy and achieve. There is, however, no contradiction between good order and discipline and a belief that being at school should be full of laughter and joy
